ABOUT ME
High level: Kelli Palmer is a strategist and business leader with deep expertise in corporate citizenship; diversity, equity, and inclusion; philanthropy; politics; and people/systems management. Her talent for developing strategy and translating it into action have allowed her to serve organizations ranging from institutions of higher education to leading membership organizations and non-profit start-ups. In these roles, she improves business processes and operations; builds policies and procedures; creates and oversees high-talent and diverse teams; and aligns business goals with corporate citizenship opportunities.
Education: Kelli was raised in the Maryland area, and attended Elon University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has subsequently received her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from Wake Forest University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Virginia.
Board service/volunteerism: Kelli currently serves on the Boards of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship Executive Forum; the Thomas Jefferson Area United /Way; and the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation. She has previously served as a member of the Boards of Live Arts, Center for Nonprofit Excellence, and the Albemarle County Democratic Committee, among many others.
Awards and recognitions: Kelli’s awards and recognitions include the Distinguished Alumna Award of Elon University (2016); membership in Phi Delta Kappa (professional education fraternity); certificates in Corporate Citizenship Leadership, and Nonprofit Management, and recognition as a National Board Certified Counselor.
Community member: Kelli is a proud, long-term resident of Charlottesville, Virginia, and enjoys spending time with her husband and their three daughters. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is a classically trained vocal performer and former member of the Washington Opera Company.
